Is that what you call it????

Okay, if you know my husband very well you know that he has a crazy, silly sense of humor and is not serious very often. This past weekend a friend texted Andy to say he had heard about us hitting the deer and wanted to check on us and the car. Randomly Andy starts chuckling to himself-when asked what he's doing, he shows me his reply to this friend's concern...."Well, it's not the chick magnet it once was". Seriously, is that what you call it? Keep in mind this is a Toyota Echo that our children refer to as "Daddy's clown car"...I'll admit it serves it's purpose for gas mileage, but chick magnet may be stretching it's capabilities a bit. Needless to say, he cracked himself (and me) up! I wouldn't have him any other way!

Oh, deer!!!

We were on our way to the zoo on a Sunday afternoon... early afternoon, when a deer decided to join us. Oddly enough we were on the highway in construction, she jumped the concrete barrier and there were cars everywhere. Don't ask me how she managed to make it through 3 lanes of southbound traffic unharmed, but wow. I have never hit a deer, dog, squirrel, anything and most of you know what an animal lover I am. It was terrible! However, my little Mackenzie really put it in perspective on the way home..."Mommy, it doesn't matter if the car is broke, or how much it costs, or if the deer died-mommy, all that matters is the people and my dog are okay!" How precious! By the way, the dog wasn't even in the car with us, but obviously she is very loved. Thankfully Alyssa was riding in front of us with my dad, as she is the more sensitive of the two and would probably still be crying if she had seen it.
